See You at the Boston Marathon Next Year

There is a short but great article HERE by Donna Schaper, Senior Minister, Judson Memorial Church in New York City and Ron Buford, who is Interim Minister for Discipleship at Old South Church in Boston and lead architect of the United Church of Christ‘s Still Speaking campaign.

I've never been much of a runner. My interest in fitness has always been in lifting weights. The longest distance I've ever ran on a consistent basis was five miles at a time, not even 20% of a marathon. However, Donna and Ron make me think that it is a great idea to attend next year's Boston Marathon. I highly doubt that I will run it but to be in attendance and make a statement. We don't run and hide as Americans and when we are knocked down we get up and keep moving forward.

I've never been to Boston. I hear that it is a beautiful city full of wonderful people. Perhaps it's time to take a trip to Boston.
